"Legacy Art" transforms unforgettable artwork into three-dimensional masterpieces, revealing new dimensions of their appeal. Joining the lineup is Noriyoshi Ohrai's "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah."
Released in 1991 as the second installment of the Heisei Godzilla series, "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" was promoted with the unforgettable tagline, "The Greatest Battle at the End of the Century." This statue recreates its iconic poster artwork at over 80 cm in height. Every detail of Noriyoshi Ohrai's acclaimed composition and rich color palette has been carefully interpreted, while even unseen elements—such as the reverse side of King Ghidorah's wings—have been faithfully realized in his artistic style.
A surfaced submarine in the foreground. Two colossal monsters locked in battle beyond it. The dramatic composition—one that prioritizes impact over literal scale—has been faithfully translated from the original illustration. Special attention has also been paid to recreating Ohrai's rich use of color, finishing Godzilla's deep blue-gray and King Ghidorah's brilliant gold to achieve the strongest possible contrast. LED illumination brings the Gravity Beams and missile exhaust effects to life, further enhancing the cinematic drama through the unique possibilities of three-dimensional art.
Also included are alternate heads for both Godzilla and King Ghidorah, inspired by their on-screen appearances. These imaginative original parts allow you to move seamlessly between the world of Ohrai's illustration and the live-action film.
