One licence, an unusual number of formats
Sideshow have been producing Star Wars since 1994, longer than they have held anything else, and the length of that relationship shows in the range rather than in the marketing. Very few licences are worked at this many sizes at once. Across this one page you can reserve a designer vinyl Ewok, a 1/20 Demi Art Scale AT-ST, a shelf of 1/10 Art Scale pieces, a 1/6 articulated figure of a background alien with four lines of screen time, a Premium Format at around half a metre, a 1/2 Legendary Scale Boba Fett past the metre mark, and a life-size Darth Vader at 233cm that is not going in a cabinet under any circumstances.
Prime 1 do not hold this licence, so the usual three-studio comparison does not apply here — it is Sideshow and Iron Studios, and they divide the ground cleanly. Iron take the 1/10 and 1/4 polystone end. Sideshow take everything unusual: the mixed-media Premium Formats with fabric costume, the 1/6 figures, the busts, the life-size pieces. If you have decided what you want and cannot find it, you are probably looking at the wrong studio rather than the wrong shop.
Original trilogy or Mandalorian era — the availability is different
The practical split in Star Wars collecting is not prequels versus sequels. It is between original-trilogy sculpts and the current Mandalorian-era wave, and it matters because they behave differently once an edition closes.
Mandalorian-era pieces are in active production. The Grogu range in particular is broad, still expanding, and reissued in new poses and variants regularly, so missing one is rarely final. Original-trilogy sculpts are a different proposition. Many were tooled years ago for a specific anniversary or a specific wave, and studios reissue them rarely — a Jabba's court alien or a particular Vader is produced, sold through and then simply stops. When an original-trilogy edition seals it usually stays sealed, and the only route back is the aftermarket at aftermarket prices. If you have been circling one, circle it faster than you would a Grogu.
Editions that close here move to the Archive so you can see what existed, and the Register is where we send notice when something long-rumoured is confirmed.
Reserving across a range this wide
Lead times vary more here than on most pages, because the formats do. A 1/10 piece may be months away; a life-size or Legendary Scale edition can be well over a year, and arrives in freight packaging that needs two people and a cleared route through the house. A deposit reserves the edition and the balance is requested when the piece is with us and has passed inspection, not on a date guessed at in advance. The deposit is non-refundable: If you cancel before dispatch we retain 10% of the price — for a deposit reservation, that is the deposit. Where a statutory right to cancel applies it is unaffected.
Common questions
Why is a US price sometimes lower than yours?
Because it is not the final price. We import through official distribution with VAT and duty included, so nothing arrives with a customs bill; the same edition bought direct from overseas typically adds around 26% plus a courier handling fee, charged after delivery. The arithmetic is on import duty and VAT on statues.
Are the 1/6 figures statues?
No — those are articulated figures with fabric costume, in the classic collector scale. They display alongside 1/6 statues but they are built to be posed, and they are a different thing to a Premium Format.
Can I mix Iron Studios and Sideshow Star Wars?
At matching scales, reasonably well. The Iron Studios pieces are all-polystone and uniform; Sideshow mix fabric and resin, which reads warmer. Group them by studio and the shelf holds together.
