What "edition" means here, and what it does not

Every listing on this page is open to reserve, but the pieces are not all at the same point. Some have not been made yet: a studio announces an edition, takes orders through a distributor, produces against that demand and ships twelve to twenty-four months later. Some are made and travelling. And some are finished and already held by our UK distributor, ready to be called off and dispatched within 28 days. Every card says which, so you know before you commit whether you are waiting two years or a month.

The language follows from that. A piece is an edition; while it is open you can reserve it; when the studio closes ordering it is sealed, and no retailer can reopen it. Sealed editions move to the Archive so you can see what existed rather than finding a dead link. Separately, each piece carries a release stage — Pre-order, Incoming, Available or Arriving — which is about the object rather than the order window.

Choosing by studio

  • Prime 1 Studio — the large end. Masterline tiers from 1/10 up to life-size, and the studio to reach for when you want one piece that carries a room. Also the longest lead times and the heaviest boxes.
  • Iron Studios — 1/10 Art Scale, with bases from the same line built to interlock. The practical choice if you collect rosters rather than centrepieces, and the easiest range to house in an ordinary glass cabinet.
  • Sideshow Collectibles — Premium Format work with fabric costume over a sculpted body, plus busts, 1/6 figures and fine art prints. The widest variety of formats.
  • Hot Toys — sixth-scale figures: tailored costume, articulated body and portrait likeness. A different discipline from cast statues, and the range where a shelf holds several.
  • PCS Collectibles — statues at the larger scales, with a strong line in video-game and fighting-game properties.
  • PureArts — licensed statues and collectibles, often quarter scale, across games and film.

If you are browsing by property rather than by studio, the theme pages are the faster route: Marvel, DC, Star Wars, anime and manga, video games, horror and monsters and the rest sit under Themes in the menu.

How a reservation works

You pay a deposit to reserve an edition, not the full price. The balance is requested only when the piece is with us and has passed inspection — not on a date we guessed at eighteen months earlier, and not on a schedule that ignores the studio slipping a quarter. The deposit is the commitment: if you cancel before dispatch we retain 10% of the price, which for a deposit reservation is the deposit. Where a statutory right to cancel applies it is unaffected. We would rather state that plainly here than bury it in a policy page, and the full mechanics are on how reservations work.

Prices are in sterling with VAT and duty already settled, because we import as the merchant of record. Nothing arrives with a customs bill. Buying the same edition direct from overseas typically adds around 26% plus a courier handling fee, charged after the parcel has already landed — the arithmetic is on import duty and VAT on statues.

Dates, and how we handle them

Release estimates move. Every date on this site is our own delivered estimate rather than the studio's factory date, and each one carries the day we last checked it, so a quiet month reads as either genuinely no news or nobody has looked. The release tracker shows the current position across the catalogue.

Who we are

Halidom is run by the team behind Loaded Dice, an established UK games and hobby retailer. Asking someone to commit money eighteen months ahead to a brand with no history is a fair thing to be cautious about, which is why the connection is stated rather than hidden.
